The reason of the design

26 years earlier then 1860, the Saint Jean Baptiste Society in Queback arleady accepted maple leaf as canada's symbol, and in 1867, when canada became a country, Alexander Muri who wrote song call "The maple leaf forever" became really porpular. And the another reason is that "In World War 1, Lester Pearson noted that almost every battalion from Canada included the maple leaf in its insignia, and vowed he would campaign to put it on the flag, and of course 50 years later as prime minister of Canada he was part of the 33-day debate that resulted in the maple leaf as the Canadian flag."

This current flag that we have as national canadian flag got proclamed by Queen Elizabeth 2 but there was lot's of flags that showed up but didn't got proclamed. The one flag that didn't got proclamed  had three maple leaf in it which is called the The Pearson Pennant didn't got accepted as canada's national flag. Also a person called asked question on that flag like this 'Why three leaves on a single stem. While I can't claim to be a vexill-botonist, I am unaware of any maple tree that has three leaves on a single stem. Is there a hidden meaning to the three or just artistic license' in 17 August 1998
